FM 306 Planning

RJRA provided the necessary planning for the evaluation, location and upgrading of a two lane facility to a four lane facility involving replacing two at grade railroad crossings with grade separations at the two railroad grade locations for TxDOT San Antonio District. RJRA applied planning and engineering principals to evaluate different conceptual layouts utilizing a screening matrix. RJRA also developed a GIS database for the corridor, spanning two counties and various governmental boundaries. This database was used extensively in planning the location of the new facility.

FM 306 Public Involvement

RJRA served as the public involvement task leader for the evaluation, location and upgrading of a two lane facility to a four lane facility involving the replacement of two at grade railroad crossings with grade separations. The public involvement plan for this study included several interactive, workshops with area stakeholders, one-on-one stakeholder meetings with individual property owners, and a public meeting. Public friendly materials were developed and distributed at each meeting. All comments were documented and addressed as part of this effort. This project also included a significant media relations component that resulted in a front page article announcing wide-spread support for the project.
